EFL STUDENT’S DIFFICULTIES IN EXTENSIVE LISTENING ACTIVITIES: A THEMATIC CONTENT ANALYSIS

The study of extensive listening (EL) is a comparatively new field in comparison to its peer, reading (ER). Extensive itself can be defined as an engaging and enjoyable activity that beneficial increasing one’s comprehension. Although there have been studies regards the general, receives relatively little attention. This aims uncover difficulties encountered by EFL students their activities, contribute present gap concerning listening, specifically it. involves twenty-three under class for General Communication 1, conducts thematic analysis on participants’ questionnaire interview responses. findings showed participants activities divided into three major categories, namely comprehension difficulties, technical motivational difficulties.
